It's the time of the year when plums are in abundance. Sometimes, you might buy too many, bring them home, and leave them too long in the kitchen. You might think to throw them out, but no! Save them and make this quick, easy, and delicious recipe that's sure to be a hit in your home!
Ingredients:
You will need:
15-30 plums
Sugar
1 to 2 cups of flour
Instructions:
Wash and pit plums. Set the plums in a baking pan. Add 1 to 2 cups of sugar. Add 1 to 2 cups of flour. Bake in the oven at 350F/177C for two hours. The longer the plums bake, the juicier the pie will be! Once done, take out of the oven and let plum pie cool. Serve cold.
This recipe was often used by the mothers in the olden days during times of war and when there was not enough other ingredients available. There is no traditional pie crust, thus, it ends up being more of a crumble than an actual pie. Plums are everywhere in The Balkans and it is the national fruit of the season. Therefore, families often eat this pie every Summer to avoid wasting the fruit.
This recipe is best served chilled, cold, or at room temperature with a scoop or two of your favourite ice cream!

Horrorlandian State Presents: 31 Days Of Screams: Movies To Watch Every Day This Spooktober!
Hello all! It's October and it's that time of the year again! The time to sit around and watch scary movies, that is!
Each day in Spooktober, Horrorlandian State will be recommending a horror film or two or three for you to watch. There will be a category for each day. Let's go!

Category: Haunted Houses
For day 5 of our series, we will explore some spooky haunted house films. Who has not walked around their neighbourhood in the dark and seen boarded up houses wondering what lurks inside? Well, I know I have. I remember there was this one old and dark-looking house that stood there boarded up for years without it being torn down or anything. It was unsightly and particularly creepy walking by at night. Sometimes, the lights would flicker and the local neighbourhood teens would tell stories about how they heard strange ghostly noises coming from inside the house...even in broad daylight!
Anyway, here are some of my all-time favourite haunted house flicks.
Recommended Films:
The Changeling, 1980
Plot/Comments: In this 1980 supernatural horror movie, a New York City music composer moves to Seattle, Washington after the tragic death of his wife and children in a terrifying car accident for a fresh start. He moves into a large mansion that proves to have a tragic backstory.
Directed by Peter Medak, this Canadian spooker is both chilling and tragic as you spend time with the main character unraveling the truth behind the haunted mansion in which he lives and as he comes to terms with its devastating past.
This is one haunted house movie that will stay with you for a long time as it plays with your emotions and makes you question the nature of humanity in one way or another. An unforgettable spooker!
The Amityville Horror, 1979
Plot/Comments: A young couple named George and Kathy Lutz buy a home in the quiet community of Amityville, New York that is haunted by an aggressive supernatural entity.
Directed by Stuart Rosenberg, this eerie film is based on Jay Anson's book of the same title which documents the paranormal experiences of The Lutz family who lived in a house in Amityville, New York where an American mass murderer named Ronald Joseph Defeo Jr. killed his family in 1974.
The film is full of dread and the dark atmosphere and slowness will leave you feeling very uneasy throughout.
Poltergeist, 1982
Plot/Comment: An average suburban California family is left terrified and helpless after their home is overtaken by mischievous spirits.
This one is a difficult watch, especially after you do your own outside of the film research aboit the characters in this film and their personal lives. It is haunting, jarring, and intensely creepy from start to finish!
